I've had the opportunity to use both iOS and Android. I appreciate the flexibility that Android provides its users, including the array of features and capabilities that are not available on iOS. However, what I truly admire about iOS is the longevity and stability it offers. Even amidst a flurry of updates from Android or any Android-based chipset, iOS remains committed to providing what they believe is the best for its users.In terms of repair and maintenance, I've found that when an iPhone encounters issues, it's relatively easy to source high-quality replacement parts at reasonable prices, instead of having to purchase a new device. However, for Android-based phones, even items like LCD screens can be notably more expensive than their iOS counterparts.From a gaming perspective, I enjoy titles such as Mobile Legends and Call of Duty Mobile. I've noticed a certain delay on Android that I can't quite explain, whereas, on iOS, the gameplay seems to be smoother.These are merely my observations based on personal experience. I've noticed the exact opposite. Apple STRUGGLES during gaming so much that it makes you feel like you're holding a cheap Chinese-made phone.And regarding longevity, let's remember that Apple was the one SECRETLY slowing down their customers' devices without notice when they released new products.When they were finally called out for this malpractice and SUED internationally, only then did they backtrack and offer an option to avoid falling prey to their deceptive practices.The only thing Apple remains committed to is planned obsolescence.In terms of repair and maintenance, Apple's "Genius" Bar (read: SCAMMERS) will tell you to replace an entire $1500 motherboard when just a $10 power connector needs to be replaced. Apple has the WORST repair and maintenance history of any device manufacturer in the world (including third-world countries).The screens of Samsung and other devices are so much better than Apple's that Apple themselves bought their screens from Samsung for the iPhones; let's not forget that. Certainly, many Android phones have better displays and screens than Apple could ever imagine.

SysAdmin SoC, Struggles? Yeah, right! My iPhone 13 Pro Max effortlessly handles games like Genshin Impact on high settings, smoothly and without any frame drops. The same goes for Asphalt 9 Legends, Apex Legends, and battle simulators with thousands of units—all at max settings. Even after hours of gameplay, I’ve experienced little to no lag. So, I don’t get where this "struggles" notion is coming from, as there’s no game on the Play Store or App Store that's demanding enough for the powerful SoCs of the latest iPhones.

8XUS, The iMessage platform is quite messy and the multitasking capabilities are poor -- for instance, background downloading doesn't exist, and the camera only works in the background during FaceTime calls. Additionally, the device doesn't support split-screen functionality. It also fails to perform efficiently with Windows machines, especially when considering that machines at the same cost provide twice the performance. The device only supports USB-C input in 15th-generation models. The animation transitions are slow, and there is a lag between syncing the iPad and iPhone- these are just the issues that I currently remember. The device only seems to work well within the Apple ecosystem, and even that is unreliable. If you happen to dislike a feature or product (for instance, the poor sound quality of the AirPods), there doesn't seem to be a straightforward solution - you either use it as-is or find an alternative.In my opinion, the iPad Pro is the only great device from Apple that can keep up with Android capabilities, even though it sometimes feels as slow as the iPhone despite housing a laptop-grade processor. The notification system is also rather cluttered.

Of all the comparing you've all mentioned regarding 8 gen 2 vs a16 bionic which was a lot to say the least, you forgot to mention the modems. A16 bionic has the x65 modem while the 8 gen 2 has the x70 modem which is already compatible with the upcoming wifi 7, thus making it future proof thus 8 gen 2 wins this comparison.

A16 bionic vs 8 gen 2 is a battle of current titans as both are high-performance chips that are used only in current premium phones with the highest prices to match. Which chip is better depends on which OS you prefer. If you like iOS then the A16 bionic is best. If you like android then 8 gen 2 is best.

Deep, And still the overclocked version of snapdragon 8gen 2 for Samsung s23 ultra gets less stable average fps, lower 1% lows, and lower peaks than the a16 bionic on iphone 14 pro max on a game test on genshin impact, you can watch the comparison on YT.I think it's because the GPU advantage snapdragon 8g2 gets you doesn't matter as much since mobile games are more CPU bottleneck, and a16 bionic has bigger and more powerful cores.

Finally one day , after i went to bed, i woke up to an apple logo on my screen - the ultimate sign of device failure. Always thought it was funny that Apple would display its logo instead of a critical error

The GPU in the sd8gen2 is incredibly powerful. It’s just a shame there’s only 1 or 2 games that actually use it’s potential. It’s an incredible chip for emulation. Still, I’d never consider going back to Android daily drivers after about 3 years on Apple.

I was using the iPhone 12 and I thought it would be flawless while gaming.. I live in a relatively warm climate region (Nigeria) where temperatures outside can reach as high as 45 degrees on a sunny day. I don’t play games during the day even if I’m indoors because it will heat up. So I typically played games at night (CALL OF DUTY) when the weather is cool. 🥲 I switched to the iPhone 12 and it was slightly better although it still heated up, it was slightly better. 🥲🥲

Again…. Focusing in on only Apple. Their A chips have always been like this, where they don’t continually and always boost above 3GHz.That much power packed in a tiny casing means there will be issues. It’s a thing called thermal throttling y’all never seem to realize. Plus this new Snapdragon does the same thing, cuz the thing only has one core that goes to 3.2GHz, while there are 4 cores that go up to 2.8GHz, which they’ll still throttle if the chip gets hot.That’s how all CPUs work, and how they’ve always been.Also phones using the new snapdragon have a Vapor chamber, compared to the iPhones using just back casing for cooling.Lastly, benchmarks mean literally nothing because people like Samsung have a tendency to fake results in those tools. Real-world performance in every day things means more, and with android as the OS as well, it means you’ll have a 50/50 chance of having a good time, and If the thing will get more than 3 years of updates.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is very stable and has very good power efficiency. With a multi-core that was nearly A15, and a GPU score that crushed A16 with nearly 100% of stability. I believe that the GPU of 8 Gen 3 will surpass M1.

The GPU's power is clear when it comes to video capture. Sd 8 gen 2's 8K 30fps capture here clearly destroys apple's paleolithic 4K 60 fps capture. If we go back, we can see that even sd 625 (6-year-old midrange android chip) can record 4K 30fps !! Want more proof that a16's GPU lack behind the sd 8 gen 2? Check Wild life Mark results. Sd here gives 28,93% more fps, meaning better gaming performance thanks to the superb snapdragon's GPU.Apple's CPU performs better according to results, thanks to better software architecture (allocates less ram to the same apps maintaining the same performance).Conclusion? Both chips are beasts, they won't lag or ever throttle in every single task. If you're a gamer, go for Sd 8 gen 2. If you are a casual user or heavy task-fan then go for a16.

Qwerty, If you're an avid videographer or photographer or enjoy projecting presentations, videos, etc with your phone stay away from the A16. As already mentioned, the A16 is only decent due to the software architecture. If the same level of efficiency was allocated for the Snapdragon, the A16 wouldn't even be on the same graphs as the SD8g2.

Qwerty, Bro, we're talking about gaming on a phone. Gaming is surely better on pc, but doesn't anyone have 1000+ to spend? Instead, purchasing a 500-600$ gaming phone is more feasible. Also, the PC needs external compartments (monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc). So don't bring Computers into the comparison, costs get too far.

I sense an Android User.1. The A16 is easily capable of 8k30fps. I‘d bet all my money it’s even able to easily record at 8k60fps as well. Why do I say this? Because it has little to nothing to do with the Processor. Apple just now got 8k capabilities with their new 48mp sensor.2. Kid, the GPU power of the SD8gen2 is AT BEST about as good, but rather worse. iPhones are capped to 60fps, hence why the SD8gen2 is able to beat it in Wildlife by such a crazy amount. Newer versions of 3DMark literally tell you the test is too lightweight.3. The actual conclusion: Slap a MagSafe fan on the iPhone 14 Pro Max and you got yourself the by far best Phone Gaming Device the world has to offer. If you don’t like iOS, go for a SD8gen2 device.

Check out Asus Rog Phone 6 pro.2) Where did you find 8K video capabilities in a16 bionic? Max support is 4K 60fps, check the data above 👆👆👆. "Iphones are capped to 60fps". You just said it yourself, apple can't exceed the 60 fps limit in the 3D mark. Especially, it can't ever reach 60fps!! (58 fps with even less stability, also check above👆👆). So even if a16 was not capped it still wouldn't exceed 60fps, snapdragon here is 28,93% better, there's no competitor. A New, "innovative" (let me laugh) 48MP camera doesn't mean better video capabilities. Video recording has to do with GPU, so with the chipset. I'll give a very simple example of mid-range androids:My redmi note 10S can record 4K 30fps with a 64MP sensor, but the newer Redmi note 11S can only record 1080p 30fps with a 108MP camera. So it's all about the chip.Conclusion? I suggest doing some research before throwing a comment. Thank you for your time.

Entworks IT, What do you mean by “Software Architecture” exactly? The comment you are referring to is written by a 16-year-old with the knowledge of 10 minutes of Google searching. There “micro-architecture” on both these chips are built is the same, i.e., ARM V9-A. Albeit, the A16 Bionic might have better IPC (Instructions per cycle) compared to the SD8 gen 2. What the commenter was trying to suggest was that A16 would be more optimized because it will be exclusive to Apple devices and doesn’t have to account for others. But the main reason I couldn’t keep myself from replying to your comment is that your claim that “A16 should be avoided if you are a videographer” is ENTIRELY WRONG.And this is not because I am some secret Apple-worshiping bonehead or anything. It’s because the specifications of the SOC can only tell you so much about the end video quality. What you’re looking at in the spec list is that the SD has a much higher bandwidth and can pump out much higher resolutions/ framerates than A16. But you’re forgetting that video is not just about having the better SOC, the Cameras themselves, the Image Processing Pipelines, etc play a much bigger role in it, which you might have seen in every review ever, iPhone videos have gone uncontested for years and 8 gen 2 isn’t likely to change that. So your statement on avoiding iPhones for video is incorrect. I quite like the 8 gen 2 over the A16. Sure the A16 might win by a hair on the CPU side but the 8 gen 2’s GPU is significantly faster than Apple’s. To say nothing of the versatility of the Snapdragon. And it was a solid improvement over the 8 Plus Gen 1, while on the Apple side, A16 was not as big of an improvement over the A15. Apple’s been ahead for so long that it’s starting to act like the next Intel. It’s lacking the motivation to innovate anymore and I’d love competitors like Qualcomm, Mediatek (and Exynos even) to do their best and beat Apple once and for all. Competition only benefits us. But as close as they are right now, today is still not the day for celebration.

Qwerty, If you are a gamer go for AD102-300 - it will easily crush both - A16 and Sd8g2 or even g3. And it will draw 600W from your power socket. However, if you are a mobile phone user... Take into account mobile restrictions and make compromises. A16 and Sd8g2 are both good and well-designed platforms. It all boils down to whether you prefer Android or iOS. Are apples better than robots?

Qwerty, Some folks may buy a $1k+ phone specifically for gaming. But, and this is a pretty big deal, that same phone that's so great for gaming is ALSO fantastic at many, many computing tasks.I use my older Note20 Ultra for gaming, video/photo capture/editing, and even 3D modeling/rendering. Sure, I could get an inexpensive laptop for those tasks, but why would I? My Note20 fits in my pocket has an unlimited data plan, and the battery life is much better than any laptop capable of the same tasks. And to top it off, it's a phone too! So, again, why buy a $350+ phone, and a $500-1500 laptop when I can get one device that does it all?Oh, and to keep the comparison equal, I'd need to get a separate mobile data plan for the laptop. Sure, I could use a phone as a hotspot, but they're usually super limited in regards to the data per month.No thanks, I've got a portable "lapdock" that turns my phone into a laptop when I need it.My point is simply that an expensive phone is actually cheaper in the long term, and much more convenient, and tons of people actually need the extra capability of a mobile powerhouse.It just so happens that they're great for mobile gaming.One last thing. I'd pay hundreds more for an android phone over iOS of similar performance, simply because you have more freedom to tweak and customize android to fit your needs.iPhones have one single feature that I'm moderately jealous of LiDAR.I do a lot of photogrammetries, and while the iPhone/iPad LiDAR is weak, it would be a pretty big advantage over android phones when using them for 3D imaging.That being said, I can get a really nice dedicated 3D scanner for less than $500. So, yeah, doesn't matter whether the a16 beats the SD gen2, an Android phone is capable of so much more than an iPhone.Wouldn't mind grabbing an iPad Pro, however. But not if it meant giving up my android.

I’d take 4K60fps over just 8K30fps lol. Adoption is 8K is far slower than when it happened with 4K.Lots of people by now have 4K devices and 4K compatible devices, mostly for media as gaming is a whole other beast. But 8K for videos? Naw. I’d be more impressed if they somehow got 8K60fps working on such a small device. But they’d have to majorly improve the camera sensor so nothing looks bad.Cuz processing camera data is different than just having it record 8K resolution.

ItzMe, Dude the phones that use this snapdragon chip are not 500. Plus there are more than just “1000 PCs” and this is talking in USD.If you had $1200 USD (which is the price of an S23) you could easily build a good PC that has higher specs than this phone, and games at higher detail and smoother frame rates. And, you could easily get a laptop at that same price. Sure with all of this, you’ll have to use windows, and X64-86 machines, but you’ll have a better less expensive thousand dollar gaming performance.Is Genshin on high with this thing? 50fps max, with dips to 37 or so.But an RTX 3060 mobile? High settings completely stable 60fps experience with no drops in high-intensity areas. The unlocked frame rate makes it 80fps.That’s just one example, and Genshin is a power hungry game. But there is way more than just Genshin.Gaming on a phone is stupid anyway because touch controls have always been bad.

Dinervc, They most likely excluded 8K, because they wanted to wait till they can do ProRes 8K video. Cuz apparently ProRes video with high-storage iPhones is really great.

ItzRandom, 1) Asus’ ROG phone is more expensive, and uses the last gen SD8+ gen 1, and it’s not even that good for regular use without the fan, which is the only form of cooling the damn thing has2) The A16 is very much capable of 8K, apple is most likely holding off until they can make ProRes video with 8K on iPhone, just because of how much development goes into this format3) iPhone screens have always been 60Hz, but the pro model uses a 120hz screen mostly for smoother scrolling on stuff, plus the SD8 Gen 2 can’t even use the full 120hz screen on certain android phones, mostly because every game is different. 60fps is the average baseline for any gaming setup, even if you run some RTX 3050 desktop setup, that smashes out 60fps and a PC build with that would be less than one of those android devices.

Guys, the snapdragon 8 gen 2 is clearly better than the A16 if you factor in price.The price for an sd8g2 flagship phone is up to maybe 1.5k USD, meanwhile, the iPhone 15 will probably cost upwards of 2k USD.

Right now S22 Ultra and iPhone 14 Max Pro cos the same even with Samsung deals and there is no reason why Apple would suddenly drastically increase their price. I am holding off until the S23 ultra comes out but I expect the price to match Apple’s iPhone.

The results are that Snapdragon 8 Gen 2’s GPU has about 20% more performance than A16 Bionic. 8Gen2 CPU’s single core is between A13 and A14, multi-core is between A15 and A16.

Anandtech does an in-depth analysis and shows that Apple's chips lead both in terms of performance and performance per watt. Also, you can't just compare frame rates in Genshin Impact. The Android version is dumbed down such that you can't run the highest level of graphic effects as compared to the iPhone version. So, you're not comparing the same thing.
