This is the second time I have used Mark’s company. Both times were a great experience.
First time was 9 years previous to replace a liner; wonderful job and worked with me to allow me a few days for me to resurface the wall interior. I referred him to a co-worker which he was also very happy with the liner replacement work.
This most current job was for an entire pool replacement which is completely enclosed by a deck. He came out and looked at the job and measured things and had complete confidence he could install the new pool we had within the existing deck. We had good discussion prior to install, so I was well aware of the work needed and what my part of the install required. During install, he needed to make adjustments and cuts to the existing deck to make it happen, which again, I was well aware of. The cuts were in the surrounding deck boards to accommodate the newer style side supports. The cuts lined up at the supports as expected with a gap provided to allow the supports room to push out as the pooled filled. After completely filled, a couple gaps were a little too tight not allowing the supports to completely relax, so using an oscillating saw and a saws-all, I was able to provide the spacing required. Given what he had to work with, all-in-all, Mark and his crew did a very professional job. Mark and Tammy were very helpful in providing assistance to inform me of what I needed to provide to make this job successful. We did have a rain delay on the day of planned installation as the ground was saturated. I initiated this delay by calling Tammy a couple days prior to suggest the delay and after seeing photos of the saturation, she and Mark agreed. After a week of good weather, Mark called and asked if he could get a start on it as they had finished another job early. I was all for it and they actually completed the job that day. I was able to acquire a trailer at last minute for the debris, so everything worked out well. I will definitely use Mark’s Backyard Oasis in the future and very much recommend him to others. Bear in mind, he is very busy during the pool days of spring and summer, so leave a message and be patient, as it may take Mark and Tammy a day or two to get back to you.Read more

This company keeps on changing names. They provide the worst most unreliable service I have ever experienced and treat their workers like garbage. They take top dollar from clients and do not even compensate for their work. The project is not communicated to their crew and they charge customers for their mistakes. Poor attitude, I would never use Mark’s Backyard Oasis or Mark’s Pool Service every again.

I did not have a bad experience. A couple delays but they were weather related. On time and pool looks good. (I have found a rock under my liner.) I will edit my review should this not get worked out. Very happy with the customer service so far! They were contracted by the great escape in IL

Would give negative stars if possible. The owners are Mark and Tammy. Tammy is extremely rude and mark is worse. Day 1 in the pool we noticed a hole in the liner and leaking water. Called them immediately and Mark was defensive instantly. Wouldn't let us get a word in before rudely interrupting. He said to go to Walmart and buy a patch!! Then, condescending tammy gets on the phone and tries to straighten it out. Finally they agree to cone back and try again. Now w have to move onto the hack job they did on the deck. We understood there would be some cutting to get it to fit. Great escape said marks oasis would do a top notch job. Looks like a cub scout went at it with a dull hatchet. Tammy kept rudely referring to the contract that they were not responsible for the hack job. We understand contracts but there's a certain amount of pride and craftmanship you expect when you dish out thousands of dollars for a job.

Our first install was set for April 29th- with the weather we had this Spring, that didn't happen. Due to weather/rain- we were rescheduled 4 times! Tammy was amazing and I felt so bad that she had to make those phone calls to let us know they had to reschedule... again! Lol She was always very pleasant to talk to even though the situation wasn't much fun. I was very impressed with how quickly and efficiently all the guys worked setting the pool up when the day finally arrived. Morgan is awesome to work with also, very informative and great ideas ! Thanks Tammy, Morgan and all the guys working hard on a crazy hot day to get our pool set up!

We had an excellent experience working with this company. With all the crazy rain this spring, they did everything they could to get our pool up. Tammy was always friendly, and worked hard to get us in because of all the rain and mud we had. They were even willing to work on Father's Day because of the rain delay. The crew that came out to install was very friendly and professional. We had a small leak in our pump and Mark and his crew came back to check and fixed it. They also helped us fix a problem (that was not their fault) while they were out that day. Mark and Tammy and their crews went over and beyond in their service to us. I will use them again, and would highly recommend them!

I had an install date for May 4th. Due to all the rain we had, didn't get put in till June 2nd. Tammy worked so hard to get us new installation dates. She was so nice. Always called me back the same day!! The guys that came and installed the pool were very nice and professional. My experience with this company was awesome!!! They even gave up there Sunday to install my pool. Very Happy customer!! Thank you Tammy, Mark, Sal and the rest of the guys for all your hard work!!!

Pool liner
Tammy is extremely rude and unprofessional!!!!!! Never fixed my pool. Left my backyard a mess. My old pool liner was left in my yard. Which they said they would put out to the curb. Don't ever do business with this company. They are a complete joke. I don't even know how they are still in business.

We had them install a new liner for us and they left a huge wrinkle in it and said they wanted $600 dollars to fix the wrinkle they did because they didn’t use any of the play sand we provided for them to use. They never called me back. And they don’t stand behind their work. This is why they wanted to be paid in cash because they don’t want any trace of their sh*tty work.

Put in our new pooo liner

To all my Rockford Area peeps... do NOT under any circ*mstances use Backyard Oasis for your pool needs!!! They put in our new liner last year in May and By November after my pool was closed for the winter the liner popped off the wall edge of the pool and emptied out my pool! We called several times and sent pictures and he blew us off for a month and a half and then he came out to finally check on it and he NEVER CALLED US BACK!!! Now we have to completely refill our pool and fix 2 holes because the liner was not installed properly!!! They DON’T stand behind their work!!! And they are not a company I would recommend to ANYONE!!! Horrible service and work!!!!
